Teacher’s training program and funding of important equipment for several schools, Perú

Our Foundation provided funding for training teachers in 3 boarding schools in Amaru, Waynakunaq and Ayarkunaq in a pioneering educational programme promoted by CODESPA. This programme that begun implementing in 2002 provides for the children to be taught in 14-day blocks and then stay at home for 14 days to help the family. This eliminates long and dangerous walks to school and parents are more willing to send their children to school, since they have enough time to help them at home in agriculture and also contribute with new ideas.

After a personal visit of Mirja and Alejandro von der Pahlen it was decided to acquire a new kitchen, warm clothes for students and some new furniture for the sleeping and teaching rooms.
